Short Codes: Short codes are special telephone numbers — significantly shorter than full telephone numbers — which can also be used to send SMS and MMS messages from mobile phones or fixed phones. These codes are used as response devices for mobile marketing programs. If short codes are customized, say to spell out an alpha word like “OFFER”, they are called vanity codes.
